Notes on Painting

I started experimenting with painting and mixed media when I was 16. I immediately took to acrylic and its flexibility and vast range of colors. I love to water it down, mix it with other mediums, and use on different surfaces. For a while I painted on wood, since I loved the smoothness of the blank wood and it gave me space to texturize the paint and perfectly create shapes with tape. But, after learning things like trying to ship wood paintings and store them, I decided to challenge myself to stick to the original relationship of canvas and paint. This is something I’m looking to explore more in the coming years and feel excited by my new relationship to painting.
